Spring Plumage Yellowlegs
Mason Decoy Factory (1896-1924)
Detroit, MI c.1900-1905

12"

Early and near pristine example that has reatined a dry surface preserving smaller paint details like the delicate sponging on the back.  The tackeyes and their delicate filler are in strong condition.  Setting it apart from most other iron bill mason shorebirds, the bill on this example is near mint.  Given most shorebirds are hunted near water, particularly salt water, the majority of iron shorebird bills are heavily corroded.

Condition:  Near mint with light gunning wear.
